Who do I work with?

If you’re a human who eats - I can help. However, sometimes we want to work with someone with lived and/or professional experiences with certain conditions - have a look below at some of my specialities!

Teenage Athletes

Swimming has always been my first love, I even competed at Olympic and Commonwealth Games trials - but that was a while ago now! As transitioned from athlete to coach to Sports Dietitian, I noticed how much nutrition was not being addressed properly for my athletes.

Teenage swimmers were some of my first clients as a Sports Dietitian, but this quickly expanded to all teenage athletes, including but not limited to; rowing, ballet, speed climbing, triathlon, tennis, sprinting, rugby, AFL, waterpolo, cricket, go karting and many more!

I love working with both athletes and their parents to not only figure out optimal performance, but also manage athletes when it comes to injuries (e.g. shin splints), vitamin/mineral deficiencies (e.g. iron), and RED-S (low energy availability).

ADHD & Autism

As a late-diagnosed AuDHD human, this became a huge interest area of mine for the last few years. I love working together with my clients, coming up with solutions that help with;

- Executive function around food/cooking/groceries
- Sensory issues around food
- What does “eating healthy” look like for neuro-spicy brains?
- and many other struggles.

I also love looking at the interplay between nourished brains and coping strategies, how medication can both help and hinder and how supplements can be used to optimise your individual health.

Eating Disorders

When I first became a dietitian, I was cautious about treating people with Eating Disorders - I had my own complex relationship with restriction and binging and wanted to make sure that I was in a well position before helping others.

A few years into working as a Sports Dietitian I kept seeing eating disorders overlap in sports and with my teenage clients so I knew I needed to step up. I took on additional training and then started working with clients with Eating Disorders.

These days, helping clients with Eating Disorders (or disordered eating) is one of the spaces I find the most rewarding, especially with AFRID being recognised now and the overlap in the neurodiverse community.

PCOS & Endo

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2017. At that time, I felt very overwhelmed and lost with the lack of helpful information available to me from my GP and other health professionals.

When COVID hit, I took it upon myself to dig into the research and actually look at what could help, and trial it on myself.

There was definitely a lot of trial and error involved, but through this process, I became passionate about women’s health and the lack of support currently given. This led me to want to know more and help more women with hormone specific conditions that are poorly managed.

Metabolic Re-feeds

Not long after first becoming a Sports Dietitian, I started coming across clients who were metabolically compromised - but I didn't have any way of proving it.

These clients would be restricting well below their BMR (the amount of calories their body to survive) but wouldn’t be losing any weight. I became hyperfoccussed on the idea of an “adapted-metabolism” and finding a way to prove this - which resulted in me purchasing a Metabolic Scanner. This machine (usually only available in research) was an eye-opener and allowed me to actually test people’s metabolism and see if their metabolism had adapted.

Over a number of years (with help from many experts in other fields) I was able to develop a protocol for improving someone’s lowered metabolism, resulting in improved health outcomes AND being able to eat enough for their body and mind.

IBS & Gut Disorders

I was someone who has always suffered with bowel “problems” for as long as I can remember. When I was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease in my early 20s, things improved dramatically, which fuelled my desire to find out about all things gut health.

I am passionate about helping people manage their IBD and IBS - because I know how much it changed my life. I know how poor/irregular bowels can not only make you feel awful, but affect your mood and your quality of life.

There is nothing too gross to talk about, and I love being able to not only help people achieve relief but also myth bust any “gut health rumours” you may have heard!

Still unsure if I’m right for you?
